Sriracha Campaign

This campaign was created for Sriracha hot sauce. This was created as a collaboration between me and three of my classmates-- Matt Hackel, Kristen Livingston, and Chelsea Goodspeed. All aspects of this campaign-- images, design, video, and music were created by us. We wanted to paint the image of Sriracha being THE everything sauce, as we found through our research that people put Sriracha on quite literally everything.

We started off creating print ads for the campaign. We wanted to have the same tagline throughout all of them but different headlines. We wanted the headlines to be quick and witty.

We then moved on to a billboard advertisement. We featured all of the meals from our print ads to try and make this campaign as cohesive as possible. We stuck with the quick and witty headlines. For this we wrote "One sauce fits all."

We decided to create a viral video as we were heavily inspired by Tasty videos. We found that most people in our target constantly repost recipe videos. Many people repost as a means of saving the recipes for later, but it does cause these videos to go viral. We wanted to show an appetizer, dinner, desert, and cocktail that includes Sriracha as an ingredient.

In addition to this we created a TV advertisement that features two women on a date at a fancy restaurant. We played off the idea of restaurants that offer grated cheese to their customers dishes and ask them to "say when". We thought it would be funny to replace the cheese with Sriracha and have the customers not say when until the whole bottle was empty. This demonstrates that people just cant get enough Sriracha on their meals, and adds some humor to the campaign.

We wanted to create a social media advertisement for Sriracha as well, but we wanted to challenge ourselves and do a less traditional form of social media. We thought Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter were too overpopulated with advertisements and there would be a lot of noise we'd have to break through. Therefore we created a jingle for an ad on SoundCloud. SoundCloud is used to share music that people create. We wanted this jingle to be catchy and not seem too much like an advertisement.

Finally, we wanted to take a guerrilla marketing approach with Sriracha. We decided to take the meaning of what it means to be an "everything sauce" to the next level, so we used it as paint. We envisioned street art that looks like its created with Sriracha. This way it seems less like an advertisement and more like regular street

art. People are more likely to take and share pictures of it if they don't know that

it is an advertisement.
